On May 1, MassMutual’s James Rogers led an informative and engaging presentation on Executive Carve Outs, focusing on Worksite Disability Income and Executive Group Life Insurance benefits.
The program was hosted by Matthews, Carter & Boyce (MCB) and sponsored by MCB, MassMutual and McGriff Insurance Services. During the presentation, Mr. Rogers provided key insight on how best to structure these types of benefit plans in order to present the most attractive options to an organization’s top talent and key recruits.
For example, individual disability income insurance policies can be used to supplement Group Long Term Disability (LTD) Plans, which often have limitations that may include benefit maximums, limited portability, restrictive definitions of disability and tax implications.
Regarding life insurance plans, an Executive Group Life benefit was presented that would offer higher death benefit than group term life insurance, and also provide other advantages, including opportunity for tax-deferred account value accumulation, guaranteed issue coverage for eligible applicants and tax advantages.
Throughout the presentation case studies were used to clearly illustrate the most advantageous scenarios for both employers and their executives.
