We also make the time to celebrate with one another, let off steam and spend time giving back to the community. Personal and professional development is a priority; we offer mentorships and opportunities that make the workplace more fun and meaningful. Everyone is on a first name basis. Everyone is accessible, and everyone is treated with respect.
A guiding principle for the accountants at MCB is to support each person’s desire for work/life balance and fulfillment. MCB recognizes the importance of personal life by fully supporting a flexible work schedule through telecommuting, flex hours, and reduced schedules in the summer. Whatever the reason, whether it is for better commuting management or being at home when your children leave and return, MCB supports making your personal life more fulfilling.
Employees love to volunteer and are given paid time off to participate in meaningful causes. We call it MCB Cares, an employee-led program to support charitable community organizations. And, our Social and Civic Committee plans picnics, holiday and April 15th parties, happy hours and other events that serve our community. We are frequent participants in community 5k run/walks, Fairfax County Adult Sports with kickball and softball teams.
A Vibrant and Diverse Workplace
As a measure to promote awareness, we have a Diversity & Inclusion Committee that includes a cross-section of the firm, from partners to administrative staff. We provide firm-wide diversity training via our event series. We often bring in experts to discuss how organizations have a direct role in social inclusion, reasons organizations should have diversity and inclusion initiatives and how women can best advocate for advancement in the workplace. In addition, we also celebrate a variety of holidays within our multicultural workforce.
We also have a strong commitment to support women’s professional networking organizations. Several MCB team members participate in Fairfax Chamber Women in Business and GMU’s Women in Business Initiative. Our younger professionals frequently attend networking events and are engaged in professional networking from day one to begin building business development skills.
