LIFE AT MCB

Dave-Frazier-and-Guiding-Eyes-Dog-webWe work hard for our clients at MCB, but we also make time to celebrate, let off steam, and spend some time away from the office helping others. We’ll get to know you, you’ll get to know us, and we’ll make a great team as we face challenges and find solutions together, share in social events, and make a difference side-by-side in community service activities.

Some things we do at MCB when we’re not busy serving our clients:

HAPPY HOURS
You’ll make friends at MCB and get to know your teammates outside the office at occasional after-work gatherings. Kick back with colleagues at one of our local hot spots, grab a cold one and a pizza at a local microbrewery, or just stop in at a nearby pub and toast the day’s activities.
SPORTS TEAMS
If you’re into sports, we’ve got a team for you. Our softball team plays in league each springtime, competing against other local companies.
SUMMER PICNIC
Bring your family to enjoy our annual summer get-together. This is a time where we all connect with employees and their families. We play games, eat good food, laugh a lot and get to know each other.
HOLIDAY PARTY
Join us – and bring a plus-one if you want – as we celebrate the winter holidays together.
HOLIDAY DONATION / VOLUNTEERING
We believe in giving back to the communities we live and work in, and one of the best ways we do this is by supporting our non-profit clientele in their give-back programs. You’ll have a chance to make a difference in the lives of people and causes most important to you.

These are typically a paid day-off devoted to serving our community and causes most important to advancing peoples’ needs.

A DAY IN THE LIFE.

“My favorite part about MCB is the professional work environment and the flexibility they provide me. Assignments are challenging, and we can do the work and still have a life. That means a lot.”

Kurt Breitmeyer

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Randolph-Macon College, 2010

“Working at MCB has given me opportunities to challenge myself, polish my skills, and grow as a professional and as a person. I’ve learned a lot here, and I’ve made some good friends.”

Christina Dawson

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

george mason university, 2010

“I’ve built my career here, and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. MCB is the kind of place where you can enjoy your work, grow professionally, and still have a personal life.”

John Ham

supervisor

UCLA, 1989

“The challenges I’ve been offered here have really helped me build my skills. I’m not sure I’d have opportunities like that someplace else. And I love having a flexible work schedule.”

Christie Kim

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Radford University

“Working in a firm where I could steadily advance my career was important to me when I started out, and I’ve had that here. I’ve also had the opportunity to build great relationships, both with my colleagues and with clients.”

Steven Moos

tax supervisor

North Dakota State University, 2005

“I’ve been able to build a career here in a way that I wouldn’t have been able to many other places. The work I do is satisfying, and I’ve been able to easily balance my work life with my family life.”

Christopher Preston

manager

Longwood University, 2001

“The MCB principals are very supportive, and I’ve had many opportunities to collaborate with them and work directly with clients. I don’t think I’d have that in a Big Four firm.”

Shannon Shaughnessy

Director of Marketing

Christopher Newport University, 2011

“I finally found the life-work balance I was looking for! I love my work, and I’ve found great mentors here.”

Tanvi Sinha

“MCB is a great place to build a career. Assignments are tailored to my personal interests and strengths, rather than asking me to follow a one-size-fits-all career track. We have a working family here, where you can get to know each other well, and that makes it easy to build long-term relationships.”

Rui Sun

Senior Auditor

Philadelphia University, 2009

“Our firm truly emphasizes life/work balance, by providing staff  the ability to take Fridays off in the summer.  It allows me to have free time outside of work.”
