SBIC-WEB Implementation Postponed until 2013 First Quarter Filing

The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced in early January 2013 that, due to technical problems, its new web-based reporting application for Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) funds (SBIC-WEB) will not be used for 2012 year-end filings. The SBA's Office of Investment has officially postponed implementation of SBIC-WEB until the quarter ending March 31, 2013.

The SBA guidance directs SBICs to use the existing SBIC Electronic Reporting Software (Microsoft Access Version) to complete and file the annual SBA Form 468 for the year ending December 31, 2012. Additionally, SBICs are required to continue to use the SBIC Electronic Reporting Software to complete and file any SBA Form 1031s.

The SBA also asks that users do not attempt to use SBIC-WEB to input data, as data may be lost as system changes are made.
